Family fun in Victoria Park in Netley

I had such a good time last week on a pre-wedding shoot with Roxanne and James and their gorgeous little girl Eden.  I had never been to Southampton Art Gallery before and was so impressed when i got there at what a stunning wedding setting it is.  Roxanne will look stunning stood by the hug arc windows surrounded by all the art displays there. What a perfect contrast this will be to a fun family marquee reception in Victoria Park .

Eden was so good considering she is only 15 months and we were pushing near her bed time , she was still happy to pose for some loving family photographs with mummy and daddy.

Southsea in Summer!

I was so disappointed to miss the recent wedding fayre at The Royal Marines Museum. I was already booked last weekend and could not exhibit there which i would have loved to have done as it is a favourite venue of ours.

We did however provide one of our music slide shows for couples to watch at the exhibition which I put together to show some lovely beach moments which is a benefit of living near the sea for weddings and beach shoots.

Congratulations to Lisa and Lewis who are getting married at John Pounds Church with a reception at The Royal Maritime Club in August. We met for a drink at The Wellington Pub in Old Portsmouth to put some plans together and had some fun enjoying the dusky weather on the beach. We met Lewis and Lisa through our previous wedding clients, Lorraine and Chris Blackburn and Lorraine is a bridesmaid for Lisa so this will be a really fun wedding to photograph with old friends there!

Lovely June summer weddings and engagement shoots!

I am loving this weather and really hope it continues for all our couples this summer. June has been kind making weddings and beach shoots so much more fun.

Mel and Simon Baker had a gorgeous day for their red rose themed wedding at HMS Excellent on Whale Island. There were lots of lovely children enjoying the huge expanse of gardens there making it a relaxing family wedding.

Happy Honeymoon to the Bakers!

Wedding with a bang at Fort Nelson

Jo and Alex are such a fun couple and their friends and families made photographing this wedding such a treat. I have never seen the best men and ushers have so much fun at a wedding – the party had started before the ceremony had even begun.

The Royal Armouries ( Fort Melson) is a stunning place to get married with fantastic views over the Solent. Jo and Alex even got to fire a canon in front of their guests before limousine turned up to take them down to the lovely Camms Hall for their wedding reception.

Julian and I are very jealous as Jo and Alex headed off for their honeymoon around California and Las Vegas- where we also holidayed for our honeymoon and we have never found a destination like it! Have fun Jo and Alex![slideshow]

Bumps and Babies!

Shooting pregnancy and baby photos is one of my favourite parts of my job. I have done some lovely shoots recently and met some fantastic people all enjoying the crazy but lovely time of becoming a mummy. What a great time of year to have  a baby though – lots of lovely walks on the sea front with your new baby.

Please remember any previous wedding clients of mine get a special discount for their bump and baby photos. Have a look on my portrait site for some more examples.

Kerry Trashes Her Dress – The Elements!

On their return from a spectacular honeymoon in the Maldives Kerry and Wayne met me on Hayling Beach to have some fun beach shots and boy did she trash that dress! We had such fun together as the photographs show.

[slideshow]If anyone is interested in getting some really beautiful photographs together in yuor wedding dress and suit, what we call a post wedding shoot or “trash the dress” as they say in America then please do contact me soon as this time of year is the best time to do it. I always suggest meeting during the summer early evening to get the perfect light and when beaches and public places are quieter

Childhood Sweethearts – Literally!

The speeches a Kerry and Wayne Parker’s wedding were so much fun to listen to and photograph- with 5 best men the jokes just kept on coming with some healthy competition between the men taking it to another level! What emerged was that Kerry and Wayne met when they Kerry was at Brownies and so was Wayne!

It was a very wet May wedding but this did not ruin things at all. The sun came out for some lovely photos in the Orchard at the side of  The Newtown Hotel in Hayling Island where the wedding took place.

Very jealous of an amazing honeymoon in the Maldives. Have fun guys! x[slideshow]

Explosive Wedding

Charlotte and Barry were a  dream to photograph on their wedding day as they were so enthusiastic and so happy. The bridesmaids’ green dresses created some lovely contrasts to St Mary’s Church in Portchester Castle and Charlotte  looked radiant.

The reception was a real treat as they held it at Explosion Museum in Gosport. The Magazine was lit up beautifully by candlelight for the wedding breakfast – an exciting wedding venue which should not be missed if you are still looking for a venue!
