Magical Austrian Themed Wedding at Hill Place

Barry and Johan’s civil ceremony celebration was a dream to photograph. Hill Place in Swanmore as a venue is simply a hidden gem of a venue for both weddings and parties and provides beautiful light wherever you go – a photographer’s dream.
What was particularly special about this wedding though was how relaxed yet intimate Barry and Johan and had planned it. With 50 guests, the house all the themselves as the winds howled outside, and the guests dressed in either Austrian national dress or exquisite evening wear, you could easily pretend you were on a weekend retreat with the rich and famous elite! The champagne and canapes/mini main courses kept on coming for a full three hours (a lovely party alternative to a sit down meal)provided by the wonderful catering company Smallpiece Catering.
But the highlight for me was standing on the huge sweeping staircase looking down on this wonderful groups of friends as they circled the new married couple and danced and sung Eidelweiss as many tears flowed- a great photo opportunity and a wonderful atmosphere.

We will be updating our 2014 highlights througout the year as often as we can. In teh meatnime, here is a short music showcasing our 2014 wedding photography highlights:

Beautiful Autumn Wedding at Good Wood Hotel

Emma and Nick’s wedding day was sunny and dry in November- what more could you wish for for a beautiful Autumn Wedding? It seemed a shame to stick to only a confetti shot and a recent play in the park throwing leaves around with our children gave Julian and I the inspiration to get the ushers to play too -and the result was some great colours and expressions. An alternative confeti shot using Autumn Leaves. The key to this was to make sure that the leaves didn’t actually fall on top of the bride and groom of course! Guess you have to make sure the ushers are not the super cheeky type!
Goodwood hotel is a beautiful venue and Emma and Nick are such avid racing car fans that we had to chase the afternoon sun in between the church and reception to get to the race track for some fun photos. I love it when you find a hidden treasure of a background – this time it came in the form of a blue/green coloured air hangar – a wonderful backdrop for some contemporary romantic photographs.[slideshow]

This July I was lucky enough to photograph my first handfasting wedding ceremony in the beautiful surrounding of Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield in Hampshire . Anji and Jesse were married first in pretty Petersfield Registry Office and then moved their family friends to the real celebrations at the remote Bbq Site where they could make their wedding ceremony their own.
There was certainly mud after the previous weeks of rain but the wellies with dresses and shorts made the informal gathering even more special.[slideshow]

Emma and Richard’s lovely country wedding at Potters Heron Hotel in Romsey

Emma and Rich are possibly the smiliest people i have ever met and their country wedding at Potters Heron Hotel in Romsey was perfect for their warm and relaxed style – the room looked stunning and Emma’s bridal and veil photos are some of my favourite wedding bridal preparation photographs yet. What stunning eyes! It was also a real treat for us to stop off on the way between the Church and the Potters Heron to meet their lovely pupy Roxy for some family photographs of the bride and groom with their special friend.

Family portrait shoot in the beautiful arches of Portsmouth beaches

Katrina and Steve are getting married in July at the stunning Southsea Castle and we are the lucky fortunate photographers they have chosen to capture their wedding day. As they already have two beautiful little girls, it was a no brainer that their pre wedding shoot would also double up as a family portrait shoot.

We only had a very short amount of time to capture them together as the rain storms were looming over us in this ever changing June weather and their youngest daughter is only very small and understandably an advocate of the idea of a full hour model shoot!

However, a lot of quick work and lots of crazy peekaboo games( and embarrassing dancing) and we got some lovely results.
