Tropical Gardens and Woodlands at The Marwell Hotel

Nikki and Karen were very blessed with the weather on their special day at The Marwell Hotel as they celebrated their civil partnership. It had rained non-stop all week yet dried up in time for us to have lots of opportunities to take photographs around the lovely woodland area at the back of the hotel. It was a  warm family and friend gathering for an emotional but lighthearted ceremony as Karen and Nikki are such a fun and close couple.

The front of Marwell hotel provides a lovely tropical garden area with Easter Island statues and even in constantly changing lighting we got some lovely romantic photographs of the couple together as well as their fun Welsh family and friends and gorgeous flowergirl and page boy.

A Perfect Marwell Zoo Wedding

Lee and Ali had a beautiful wedding at Marwell Zoo and all their guests made us feel incredibly welcome. We were even invited to dine next to Ali’s wonderful Nanny – i don’t think i have ever laughed so much at a wedding table.

Ali had three lively and gorgeous bridesmaids who were all smiles, fun and frolics all day and were a fantastic support to Ali as she got dressed into her beautiful wedding dress as the emotions built up

Julian rode with the  bride and groom to take some photographs of them feeding the giraffes whilst I stayed with the wedding party to capture the wedding celebrations.[slideshow]

We are looking forward to photographing the wedding of Dan and Anna at Marwell Hall very soon as it such a stunning venue complete with land trains for the guests to enjoy a ride around the Zoo. It is certainly a treat to ride back on the land train in the evening when all the Zoo visitors have gone home. Made me think of Madagscar the film- wondering what the animals were up to when all was quiet!

Horse and Carriage, Ice – creams on the beach…a perfect August Wedding!

Congratulations to the lovely Lisa and Lewis Colbourne who got married at John Pounds Church in Portsmouth and then celebrated with a lovely reception at The Royal Maritime Club also in Portsmouth. We had  lots of fun taking photographs by the Garrison Church of Lisa with her bridesmaids  and George, a very good horse who pulled the  wedding party carriage around Old Portsmouth.

The whole wedding party followed Lisa and Lewis on their horse and carriage as we made our way down to the Hot Walls for ice cream and confetti! The weather held for long enough for us to get some lovely photographs of the everyone together including the bridesmaids using Lisa’s dress to shade from the rain….lucky it had a beautiful long train with it!

Looking forward to putting together  your wedding album Lisa and Lewis!

A castle shoot in the rain!

The weather is so up and down at the moment and my engagement shoot with Graham and Kirstie proved to be one of those rainy evenings in August! We met at Portchester Castle for the dramatic back drops and promise of necessary shade in this unpredictable weather.

Really looking forward to being their wedding photographers for their wedding at St Marys’ Church in Rowner and a wedding  reception at the lovely Solent Hotel in Whiteley.  We even spotted  a deer in the woodlands behind the hotel which will be perfect for some fun/romantic shots on the day which they will have no problem doing as you can see from some of their engagement shots.[slideshow]

Summer send off for Mariella

During the summer season it is even harder to keep blogging all the time. Loving putting all the weddings albums together though and meeting some great couples who are getting married in 2011. We are really  looking forward to Lisa and Lewis’ wedding this Saturday at John Pounds and The Royal Maritime Club!

I did want to share some photographs i took last week though of a group fo gorgeous girls who got together for an early birthday treat and send off for their friend Mariella who is leaving with her family to live in Barhain.

We had lots of fun playing around the walls of Portchester Castle for their Portrait shoot. Here are some highlights.

Good Luck Mariella and Family!

“Watch Me Grow”Collection- bump to early years photography collection

Just a reminder that i do lo capturing the later stages of pregnancy for mummies and daddys and i offer a “Watch Me Grow” collection option. This is where you can opt for three shoots to be spread out from the bump stage to the early days ( usually 2 weeks- to give you chance to settle in) and about 6 months or the first birthday of your baby.

I now also offer luxury Potfolio presentation boxes with beautiful silk photo covers of your baby, with a bespoke design to suit your home or nursery. Inside you can keep your bump to first baby favourite photos on luxury mounts and swap and change which ones you would like to display on miniature easels.

It is a really classy alternative to an album or canvas . Please look on my website for more details.:

Family fun in Victoria Park in Netley

I had such a good time last week on a pre-wedding shoot with Roxanne and James and their gorgeous little girl Eden.  I had never been to Southampton Art Gallery before and was so impressed when i got there at what a stunning wedding setting it is.  Roxanne will look stunning stood by the hug arc windows surrounded by all the art displays there. What a perfect contrast this will be to a fun family marquee reception in Victoria Park .

Eden was so good considering she is only 15 months and we were pushing near her bed time , she was still happy to pose for some loving family photographs with mummy and daddy.

Southsea in Summer!

I was so disappointed to miss the recent wedding fayre at The Royal Marines Museum. I was already booked last weekend and could not exhibit there which i would have loved to have done as it is a favourite venue of ours.

We did however provide one of our music slide shows for couples to watch at the exhibition which I put together to show some lovely beach moments which is a benefit of living near the sea for weddings and beach shoots.

Congratulations to Lisa and Lewis who are getting married at John Pounds Church with a reception at The Royal Maritime Club in August. We met for a drink at The Wellington Pub in Old Portsmouth to put some plans together and had some fun enjoying the dusky weather on the beach. We met Lewis and Lisa through our previous wedding clients, Lorraine and Chris Blackburn and Lorraine is a bridesmaid for Lisa so this will be a really fun wedding to photograph with old friends there!

Lovely June summer weddings and engagement shoots!

I am loving this weather and really hope it continues for all our couples this summer. June has been kind making weddings and beach shoots so much more fun.

Mel and Simon Baker had a gorgeous day for their red rose themed wedding at HMS Excellent on Whale Island. There were lots of lovely children enjoying the huge expanse of gardens there making it a relaxing family wedding.

Happy Honeymoon to the Bakers!
