A Musical Wedding Feast at The Watermark Restaurant

I met Josephine and Chris last Autumn and knew then that their wedding was going to be something special and just that bit different!

Jo and Chris are both teachers and not surprisingly very organised so it came as no surprise to me that we would be meeting up for a pre-wedding engagement shoot a few months before the wedding.

I always enjoy to sit with a couple over a cup of coffee and chat about the day before the wedding so that we can put together a full wedding itinerary with all the timings of the day.

So we met in February at The Watermark Restaurant in Port Solent, Portsmouth, to have a chat and then took a stroll nearby to take some casual photographs of the two of them together. These shoots can be very useful both for the couple who may never have had their photographs taken professionally together before and it also great for me to spend some time with them working out what makes them click in front of the camera.

Jo and Chris had chosen to have a Signature Board for their wedding day instead of a guest book so that the guests could sign their good wishes to them around a mounted photograph of the two of them from this engagement shoot.  It looked great at the wedding next to the cake and the guests enjoyed signing the photo as something different . An image of this is shown below.

On the 3rd April we decided to maximise our time so whilst i was with Josephine, Julian went down to Hayling beach to meet the guys all suited up and looking cool so he could capture some groom prep and have some fun on the beach.

After a lovely intimate ceremony at Portsmouth Registry Office, the guests made their way to The Watermark Restaurant on a big yellow school bus supplied by Jo and Chris whilst Julian and I took advantage of the shelter at The Hot Walls for some romantic shots of the  happy couple.

Jo and Chris were so much fun to photograph together and they were all smiles and laughter despite the April showers.

Back at The Watermark we were treated to a fantastic music medley by Chris’s Dad and Chris himself along with Jo’s brother Ben.

Happy Honeymoon in Jamaica Mr and Mrs Armstrong!
