Penguins and Autumn leaves- A romantic Wedding at Marwell Hall

Anna and Dan put together a beautiful wedding at Marwell Hall followed by a reception at Marwell Hotel . The Hall looks particularly stunning at this time of year with red leaves scattered everywhere. It was an unusually cold day but it didn’t dampen anyone spirits as everyone came out to the lovely gardens at the back of the hall for photographs and Anna’s bridesmaid had everyone in fits with her monkey impressions to get the children’s attention for the group photographs.

We rode through the zoo on the land train with Anna and Dan and their guests to the hotel for a beautifully decorated room with candles and fairy lights and a few cuddly penguins for the younger ones…one of Anna’s  favourite animals.

Hope they are having a wonderful time away!

An exotic theme to a wedding at the Solent Hotel in Whiteley

Graham and Kirsty chose a lovely September day for their wedding at St Mary’s in Rowner followed by a reception at the luxury Solent Hotel in Whiteley. One look at the reception room and i could see it was a perfect fit for the couple who love travelling and have been to many exotic locations around the world already. The black and red colour theme was done exceptionally well with really unusual table decorations that just made you want to get on that plane to Bali or Thailand!

Better Together – A New Place Autumn Wedding

“Better Together” by Jack Johnson was the chosen first dance for Clare and Mat and what a fitting tune for such a lovely couple who had such  stunning wedding day. The Arden Suite at The New Place – De Vere hotel in Shirrell Heath- looked spectacular with huge sprays of lilac and white flowers and chair covers.

Clare and Mat have lots of friends from university, school, travelling and we had fun photographing them along with their family and flower girls playing croquet on the lawn and having some fun with the photographs.

Mat also planned a surprise shot with us where we went to the front of the hotel for some romantic photographs of the two of them only for Mat’s dad to present Clare with an Aston Villa football scarf and a Portsmouth one for Mat – a loving rivalry between the couple!

Happy Honeymooning in Mauritius!

Fairytales, Ice Creams and Bouncy Castle at Victoria Park!

Roxanne and James designed a truly unique wedding for their big day at the end of August. Southampton Art Gallery was the romantic setting for Roxanne to walk down the aisle with their gorgeous little girl, Eden. This was the first time Julian and I had photographed a wedding at The Art Gallery in Southampton and we thought the setting was beautiful. They said their vows in front of the huge Arch window and the light streaming through was a photographer’s dream for capturing such a gorgeous couple.

The wedding party all then made their way over the bridge to Victoria Park in Netley for a fun wedding extravaganza. We arrived to see a mini wedding festival complete with a stunning marquee, bouncy castle slides, an ice cream van, gourmet burger van and chocolate fountains! The children and adults alike came flying down the slides with great gusto and the party atmosphere took off immediately. With table names such as “Loves First Kiss” and “Happily Ever After” it felt as though we had entered a forgotten world of romance!

Happy Honeymooning for the end of this month to The Bunce-Powleys!

Tropical Gardens and Woodlands at The Marwell Hotel

Nikki and Karen were very blessed with the weather on their special day at The Marwell Hotel as they celebrated their civil partnership. It had rained non-stop all week yet dried up in time for us to have lots of opportunities to take photographs around the lovely woodland area at the back of the hotel. It was a  warm family and friend gathering for an emotional but lighthearted ceremony as Karen and Nikki are such a fun and close couple.

The front of Marwell hotel provides a lovely tropical garden area with Easter Island statues and even in constantly changing lighting we got some lovely romantic photographs of the couple together as well as their fun Welsh family and friends and gorgeous flowergirl and page boy.

A Perfect Marwell Zoo Wedding

Lee and Ali had a beautiful wedding at Marwell Zoo and all their guests made us feel incredibly welcome. We were even invited to dine next to Ali’s wonderful Nanny – i don’t think i have ever laughed so much at a wedding table.

Ali had three lively and gorgeous bridesmaids who were all smiles, fun and frolics all day and were a fantastic support to Ali as she got dressed into her beautiful wedding dress as the emotions built up

Julian rode with the  bride and groom to take some photographs of them feeding the giraffes whilst I stayed with the wedding party to capture the wedding celebrations.[slideshow]

We are looking forward to photographing the wedding of Dan and Anna at Marwell Hall very soon as it such a stunning venue complete with land trains for the guests to enjoy a ride around the Zoo. It is certainly a treat to ride back on the land train in the evening when all the Zoo visitors have gone home. Made me think of Madagscar the film- wondering what the animals were up to when all was quiet!

Horse and Carriage, Ice – creams on the beach…a perfect August Wedding!

Congratulations to the lovely Lisa and Lewis Colbourne who got married at John Pounds Church in Portsmouth and then celebrated with a lovely reception at The Royal Maritime Club also in Portsmouth. We had  lots of fun taking photographs by the Garrison Church of Lisa with her bridesmaids  and George, a very good horse who pulled the  wedding party carriage around Old Portsmouth.

The whole wedding party followed Lisa and Lewis on their horse and carriage as we made our way down to the Hot Walls for ice cream and confetti! The weather held for long enough for us to get some lovely photographs of the everyone together including the bridesmaids using Lisa’s dress to shade from the rain….lucky it had a beautiful long train with it!

Looking forward to putting together  your wedding album Lisa and Lewis!

A castle shoot in the rain!

The weather is so up and down at the moment and my engagement shoot with Graham and Kirstie proved to be one of those rainy evenings in August! We met at Portchester Castle for the dramatic back drops and promise of necessary shade in this unpredictable weather.

Really looking forward to being their wedding photographers for their wedding at St Marys’ Church in Rowner and a wedding  reception at the lovely Solent Hotel in Whiteley.  We even spotted  a deer in the woodlands behind the hotel which will be perfect for some fun/romantic shots on the day which they will have no problem doing as you can see from some of their engagement shots.[slideshow]

Summer send off for Mariella

During the summer season it is even harder to keep blogging all the time. Loving putting all the weddings albums together though and meeting some great couples who are getting married in 2011. We are really  looking forward to Lisa and Lewis’ wedding this Saturday at John Pounds and The Royal Maritime Club!

I did want to share some photographs i took last week though of a group fo gorgeous girls who got together for an early birthday treat and send off for their friend Mariella who is leaving with her family to live in Barhain.

We had lots of fun playing around the walls of Portchester Castle for their Portrait shoot. Here are some highlights.

Good Luck Mariella and Family!
